Bridging the Health Literacy Gap: health information tools for your students

The Institute of Medicine defines Health Literacy as "the degree to which individuals have the capacity to obtain, process, and understand basic health information and services needed to make appropriate health decisions." This workshop will provide an overview of health literacy, provide participants with skills for referring literacy students to appropriate health information resources, and introduce health information websites developed by the National Library of Medicine and other reputable organizations.
