Session One of the Adult Learning and Language Series:
Adults who read a a low-level are likely to be deficient in the academic vocabulary required for comprehension. Moreover, seeing relationships between words is a critical thinking tool that supports understanding. This workshop explores simple, everyday steps that teachers of adults can use to enhance language and critical thinking abilities.
This session is most appropriate for teachers of Adult Basic Literacy and Pre-GED students. The techniques explored are also helpful for ESL teachers.
