Would you like to do something wonderful to help build the capacity of the Tarrant Literacy Coalition? If so, consider this: the Tarrant Literacy Coalition is now interviewing for a new AmeriCorps VISTA position* that will start in July.
This position will involve working with dozens of local community and faith based literacy programs throughout Tarrant County and beyond. Our new VISTA will have a chance to use his/her creativity, energy and enthusiasm to help change the lives of countless adults and their family members by helping us further our mission of improving the quality and increasing the quantity of adult literacy services.
VISTAs receive a monthly living stipend during their year of service, and upon completion of the year, receive an additional educational benefit of more than $5,000 that may be applied toward existing student loans or used to obtain additional education.
While this is a full-time position, VISTA members are allowed to attend school during their year of service, so this is a great opportunity for someone who is attending college or graduate school!
