X-WR-CALDESC:In 2018\, Tarrant County's Opportunity Education Center\, loca
ted on the UTA campus\, shut its doors. Now in 2022\, It is back thanks to
Opportunity Resource Services. But what is the EOC? and how can it help a
dult learners move on into the next phase of their education?\n\nThis over
view of the Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) program\, operated by Opp
ortunity Resource Services will answer that question. The EOC is a program
funded by the U.S. Department of Education that provides counseling and a
pplication assistance to any qualified participants interested in pursuing
higher education. Higher education can be college\, university\, a trade
school program\, or any other training after the completion of high school
or the GED. The EOC advisors are here to be higher education advocates. T
he EOC program provides free individualized academic and career advising\,
expert financial aid assistance\, help for adult learners to complete hig
h school equivalency\, and support with enrolling in industry-recognized c
ollege and trade programs. Our experienced advisors understand the obstacl
es adults face when enrolling in college – financial\, personal\, and fami
ly – and help clients create a personalized plan to work through those obs
tacles to attend school. All EOC services are 100% free and we currently s
ervice the Dallas\, Johnson\, and Tarrant county areas. \n\nJoin our prese
nters: Ikisha Cross\, Omar Pulido\, and Hannah Davis Sutton as they share
information about this much-needed program in North Texas. \n\nAs always p
rofessional development (Other) will be available for this session. See yo
 u at 9:00 am on February 11th.
