 on the job\, and/or in community college?  THIS workshop will provide you 
 with hands-on tools you can use with your students to help them improve th
 eir math skills now!\n\nWhen studying algebra\, students often ask “when a
 re we going to use this?”.  In this interactive workshop\, algebraic think
 ing will be used to analyze common situations giving rise to a variety of 
 instructional strategies that make algebra accessible from many entry poin
 ts.  In addition\, the workshop will include specific tools for helping st
 udents master geometry\, including measurements and use of the math formul
 a page.  \n\nThis full-day workshop is for anyone who works with adult lea
 rners\, but especially for those who are helping adult learners MASTER MAT
 H!\n\nCost to attend will be $10 per person\; includes lunch and snacks an
 d all workshop materials.\n\nABOUT THE PRESENTER\nHeidi Schuler is the lea
 d GED® instructor at the Chattahoochee Technical College in North Georgia.
   A featured speaker at the 2015 TALAE and Literacy Texas conferences\, He
 idi conducts professional development workshops for LINCS (Literacy Inform
 ation and Communication System) and is a National Trainer for online cours
 es.\n\nHere’s how Heidi describes her approach to workshops: “Everything w
 e will discuss and participate in...is something that can immediately be u
 tilized come Monday morning in the classroom.  This is not a session for p
 assive participants who only want to sit in the back and listen.  My stude
 nts in the classroom are expected to fully participate in activities and s
 o are my workshop attendees.  I am highly sensitive to those who are intim
 idated by math and have found that the “I Do\, We Do\, You Do' approach wo
 rks well\, especially with the activities I enjoy delivering.'\n
